This book is a story that happens to have a part time biker as the hero. He is arrogant and doesn't want to be involved in biker world but doesn't want to lose the tattoo on his back. The heroine is a debutante who refuses to marry a man who cheats on her and doesn't love. She breaks her engagement even though none of the wedding expenses are refundable and all her friends think she should marry him anyway. They meet because the bikers discover her family home has been deeded to their MC. There's a little bit of everything in this- a love story and murders. However its not set inside a club house and doesn't have women giving themselves to anyone in the club. It's set in an upper class setting in NOLA after Katrina. The story will keep u interested and immersed in their world. Not dependent on sex scenes to keep storyline going.Tags : Strip You Bare (The Deacons of Bourbon Street Book 4) - Kindle edition by Maisey Yates. Strip You Bare The Deacons of Bourbon Street Book 4 edition by Maisey Yates Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Super hot.
Excellent book, The characters are all well written. Grabs you from the beginning and holds you till the end.
I gave this five stars because that was the most I could. This is so well plotted that even if you know there's a happily ever after in the end, the story is strong enough--compelling enough--that you happily go along toward it, maybe even dreading that then the book will be over. The thing about all the Deacon books is that they are so good. They have bad, bad boys who are extremely dangerous (but not to the woman they have fixed on), and apparently that's what we women want. Deacon characters and characteristics are strongly developed and swooned over, by the women they want and get as well as readers/buyers. If you are at all into bad and dangerous men and not metrosexuals, then the Deacons are for you.
First I want to say about this book, fantastic story. This is a phenomenal story about a good girl, a bad boy, and the good girl seeing how good the bad boy really is. I am not going to give a synopsis of the story, you have read the blurb already and liked what you read or you would not be reading the reviews.
I think my favorite part is when Micah tells Sarah about something that happened in the past and he thinks that this will make Sarah hate him. Wrong! Sarah understands what happened and loves him anyway. Sorry, I do not give spoilers in my reviews, you will need to read the book to find out what I am writing about. I love the sense of family that you read about in this story, the way that Ms. Yates writes about how some “family” are not always related, but family all the same.
I have read several books by Ms. Yates in the past, before my reviewing days started last year, thru Harlequin. However, not from this series, and not the MC genre. I was recently introduced to the MC genre by another author I absolutely love, so this genre is somewhat new to me. So, when I saw this book being offered on NetGalley, I jumped on the chance to read it. I want to thank Random House Publishing Group – Loveswept for the approval and gifting me with a copy of this book. I LOVED ITI
I Look forward to reading more from Maisey Yates in the future. Her writing keeps her readers coming back for more.
Thank you for reading my review. Yes, if you like MC books, do the “One-Click” thing, you will not be disappointed, I did!
Sara and Micah are an unusual couple. Very different and yet the same. This book is an unusually good story, good characters, good twist to keep you occupied and ended too soon.
Good read and a good ride.
While this was a pretty good book, it was my least favorite of the series. The entire series really had very little to do with the MC interaction. But overall it was a good read.
Four authors, four stories, four men cast adrift from all they loved, four strong women, a mystery to be solved; all delivered in the Deacons of Bourbon Street series. I have read all of the books in this series and believe they can be read as stand alones but would highly recommend reading the entire series to avoid losing any of the richness involved in all of these intertwined stories.
Strip You Bare brings the highly suspenseful mystery of who killed Priest, the former president of the disbanded Deacons of Bourbon Street motorcycle club, to a conclusion. It also delivers Micah’s, aka Prince, journey to find true love and his discovery of the true man beneath the exterior façade he has hid behind for years. Abandoned and abused by his parents, he finds his way to the Deacons where brotherhood is a given. Banished from New Orleans ten years ago by his former mentor and the only man he has ever respected. However, Prince always held himself aloof and focused on gaining all the glitter and pleasures that materialistic things could give him. Upon banishment he moves on to another life of high class people, suits and ties where people are just shells of their real self. Sadly he finds that all the glitter and gold isn’t what he needs or really wants. Only true love and acceptance of the man beneath the skin will do that.
Upon his return he fights against his other three brothers and makes it plain he just wants to return to his money and glittery life in San Francisco. In their group effort to find Priest’s killer, Prince is assigned to monitor Sarah Delacroix, the true epitome of a steel magnolia. Sarah is also hiding behind the southern aristocrat façade that has been drilled into her for her whole life.
“He could sense the hurt running through the note of steel in her voice. But she wouldn’t break, not in front of him. Not this iron southern belle, who was stronger than most of the badass outlaws he’d met over the years. “
Micha/Prince brings her true “biker bitch” out and makes her realize that not only has Micah been hiding from the real world, she has also. Sarah digs deep and shows Micha that he’s a good man and worthy of love.
“You wanted me before I figured out who I was. Before I could accept who I was. “
In this final book of the series, the author deftly shows that greed, violence and base desires are not relegated to the dark, seedy side of New Orleans. It also exists in the upper class society and that in the end we are all related in blood somewhere down the line.
I am sad to see this series end. I would love to see more stories about the Deacons and more stories that include the rich descriptions of a town that drags you into it like the fog that rolls over the town on a dark night when the dragons are hiding in alleys. I feel blessed to have read four great love stories, a thoroughly addicting who-dun-it, and great writing by four gifted authors
